      Internal Medicine Residency Clinic

      Overview:

      The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing EECP therapy for patients, pre-certing and scheduling cardiac testing. Performing EKG's and filling in when needed assisting physicians or APRN's. This position requires excellent clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

      Qualifications:

      • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

      • Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in a public contact job.

      • Certifications: Must maintain CPR certification

      • Knowledge: Knowledge of health care field and medical specialties. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.

      • Special Skills: CPR, EKG and Blood Pressure skills; basic computer knowledge; communication skills. Skill in performing assistance tasks appropriately. Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.

      • Abilities: Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image. Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.

      • Preferred Education: Completion of MA or CNA training program consisting of classroom and clinical training.

      • Preferred Experience: Prior direct patient care experience.

      • Preferred Certifications: Credentialed as a CMA, RMA or CCMA or other approved MA credential.

      • Preferred Other: Experience with EPIC
